Please put your donations for Project Homeless Connect in the box in the Foyer. The coats will be given out to homeless people on Thursday September 22nd at the Blue Cross Arena. 
 

The Women of the ELCA Fall Assembly will be 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 3rd at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1549 Dewey Avenue. Registration is $3. For reservations, call Shari MacFarlane (334-7393) by September 25th.

 

A special "Feeding the Roots of Leadership" campaign is being held to raise funds for Seminary Education, Outdoor Ministry, and Campus Ministry in our area.  Please see the Foyer display for information.   

 

A free Choral Event will be held on Sunday October 23rd at 4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd., Penfield. Celebrate with music as St. John’s opens two family style nursing homes.

 

The 2010 Interfaith Service brought RAIHN volunteers together in song and prayer, recognizing and honoring the hospitality that is so graciously offered every day at RAIHN.

A second service that involves all thirty-five RAIHN congregations is being planned for April 2012. The first Planning Meeting will take place on Wednesday October 5th at The Baptist Temple, 1101 Clover Street at 7:00 PM. Please see Jen Canning if you are interested in helping.

 

Our Calendar of Events and Activities is getting fuller each week. If you need to check which room is being used and when, please see the yellow room usage form in the Foyer next to the name tags.

 

We have taken several taking Room Bookings for 2012. If you need a date reserving for a St. Paul’s event please let Janet Harris know.

If you are a Worship Assistant you are asked to help us save postage and collect your prayers and/or readings from the Foyer. Sundays through October are ready for collection.

 

Confirmand parents of 7th & 8th graders are invited to a planning session for the 2011-2012 Confirmation Program today at 9:45 a.m. in the Conference Room above the offices. Confirmation classes will begin at 5:15 p.m. on Monday September 26th.

 

Operational Budget financial status.  As of August 31st, budgeted income was $160,074 and we received $163,147. Budgeted expenses were $191,117 and we spent $186,227.

 

Capital/Mortgage Budget financial status.  We have received the sum of $50,532 as of the end of August. We require $6,840 per month to meet our annual mortgage of $82,080.

Focus of the Week: Fellowship Meeting

A Fellowship Meeting will be held next Sunday, September 25th at 10:00 a.m. in the Dorcas Room. Today we welcome Colt John Mills, Ollie Bryan Mills and Tyler Michael Sheehan into the family of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism. They are the children of Kimberly Saxton and Bradley Mills. Today is Sunday School Rally Day. There will be group activities and time to meet with your teacher and classmates!

 

All 6th-12th grades are invited to the LYO Meeting in the LYO lounge (2nd floor, right above the nursery) at 9:30 a.m. LYO meets every Sunday (following the Sunday School calendar) from 9:30-9:55 a.m.

 

Our Adult Forum will begin again today at 9:45 a.m. Use the elevator and get out at level three. Future subjects for discussion will be decided today.

 

Our Handbell and Choir Rehearsals have begun on Wednesdays, at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively. Please call Chris Petit for more information.
