Wednesday Morning Bible Study will begin on Wednesday September 8th at 9:30 a.m.

Our fall schedule will begin next Sunday, September 12th with two services at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m.

Choir and handbell rehearsals will begin on Wednesday September 15th.

Sunday School, LYO, Adult Forum and Children’s’ Choir Rehearsals will begin on Sunday September 19th.

 

The Pittsford Food Cupboard regularly has empty shelves. Please bring a donation or make a financial donation using a pew envelope. Checks should be payable to St. Paul’s.

 

The Upstate NY Synod Women of the ELCA will hold its annual convention at Camp of the Woods in Speculator, NY, October 8, 9, 10.  Forms are in the Dorcas Room. Please see Shari MacFarlane with questions.

 

The Women of the ELCA Fall Assembly will be Monday, September 20th at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2415 Chili Avenue, Gates. Registration ($3) is at 5:30 p.m.  Pot Luck Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. and the program (Ganondagan New York State Historic Site) begins at 7:00 p.m. Bring a dish to pass for the Pot Luck Dinner.

 

Please make sure you have all your Meetings and Events added to the calendars on the stairway to the offices.  If you need tables & chairs setting up let John O’Flaherty, our sexton, know by leaving a note in his mail tray.

 

Church Closers are needed to ensure all lights are turned off, windows are closed and doors are locked. This is not a regularly scheduled volunteer ministry; just needed usually on four Sundays a year. Please see Janet Harris if interested.

 

When we return to two services on September 12th can you provide Cookies for our Fellowship? If so, please sign up on the list on the refrigerator.  If you provide them for the early service we ask that they arrive in time for the openers to set them out, if you provide for the second service we ask that you set them out prior to the beginning of the second service.

If you are a Worship Assistant you are asked to help us save postage and collect your prayers and/or readings from the Foyer. Sundays up to and including September 26th are ready.

 

October “Link” Articles are due Wednesday September 15th. It will be mailed on Tuesday September 28th. Please sign up to help.

 

Greeter, nursery and worship assistant Volunteer Schedules are ready for collection from the Foyer. Those with e-mail addresses should have already received theirs. If you prefer to receive a paper copy, please let Janet Harris know.

 

Parents of 7th and 8th graders are invited to a planning session for the 2010-2011 Confirmation Program on Wednesday, September 22nd from 7:15 to 8:00 p.m.  Please let Pastor Hedin know if you cannot attend.

Focus of the Week: Annual Picnic

Sunday September 12th will be our Annual Picnic at North Lodge in Kings Bend Park, Jefferson Road. We will hold worship there at 11:00 a.m. followed by fellowship, food and games. Please bring your place settings and a dish to pass. Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided. Sign up in the Foyer or on our web site. The cost is $4 per person or $12 per family. Please use a pew envelope and mark it for picnic. Volunteer your help by signing up in the Foyer. If you have items to donate for bingo prizes, please bring them to the Church Office.

 

Today we welcome representatives from Eastern Service Workers Association. Please meet them after the service in the Foyer.

 

St. Paul’s is assigned to help move elders to the Sunday chapel service at St. John’s Home on Highland Avenue this afternoon. About 80 attend when there is help.  Only about 30 can attend when there is no one to assist with the wheel chairs. See Suzanne Graser for information or to offer help.

 

We are assisting at the First Presbyterian Church with Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network this week. Please see the sign up sheet in the Foyer for volunteer opportunities. See Jennifer Canning with questions.

 

Our Annual Golf Tournament & Dinner is Monday September 13th at Victor Hills Golf Course. First tee time at 11:30 a.m. Sign up by September 9th on our web site or use a flier from the back of the sanctuary. The cost is $100 per person or $35 for dinner only. See Marc Tayman for details.
