Better than first planned.

We are warm and almost accessible.  It seems that much of what we are waiting for will require at least another week.  The altar floor has it's first coat of stain and varnish and looks beautiful- two more will be added next week so we tread softly this weekend.  The final shape of the building is easy to visualize, and the workers will hopefully need less than 6 weeks to finish.  We continue to accommodate, not eliminate!  This weekend promises to be warm and sunny, so please come and see what is new at St. Paul's.

As usual, we start with the view of the new entrance into the Foyer as seen from Lincoln Ave.  As you can imagine, this will be the focal point for someone driving along Lincoln Ave. and seeing our church for the first time.  If you look back at the picture of this entrance from two weeks ago, you'll see that the windows are now in, the Tyvek is on the plywood, and the crushed stone base for the walkway has been put in place.

We thought you might like to see what it looks like relative to the model the architect created.  As you can see, there were some revision in the plans.  The current look looks nicer to us.  The chimney is gone and the square topped windows are replaced with curved pointy tops.  (Perhaps one of the readers can provide the webmaster with the proper term for this shape.)

X marks the spot on the on the entrance from the parking lot.  We assume that the X will eventually be removed.

Grunt, Groan, Gasp.

This poor guy is having to haul this big bundle of insulation all by himself.  He deserves a raise.

Here's another young man that deserves a raise.  He's putting down the carpet in the nursery. Of course, you knew that before we told you because of the color of the walls.

Here's the finished look.  Any possibility the the mottled design was selected so that minor spills and so forth from the kids that will use this room won't be as visible?
The floor in the front of the sanctuary where piano will be has been refinished.  What a change!

Installing the air runs for the heating system in the grand foyer.  This may be the last time you see these.
