Our Spirits are Lifted

The building project continues with final work being done on the elevator, lift and on the exterior doors. The ceiling of the Grand Foyer is in place.

(Paster Hedin)

This week we're visiting the chruch at night so we're taking all our pictures with flash, even the outdoors one. They've still got lots of construction material blocking the entrance, so we won't be going in here this Sunday.

But if we could walk in that door, we would see that the ceiling in the Grand Foyer is now in place. The seams still need to be taped, but that will come soon.

If, as we walk in the door, we look to the right, we see a couple of guys working into the evening on the access lift to the office building. They're from Access Lifts of Jamestown.

We look a little closer to see what they're doing, and it's still not clear. It's highly technical, we presume.

So we climb the stairs into the office and look from that direction, and it looks like this guy, Sean, is trying to move the wall over a little. Actually, he says he trying to move the lift just so slightly so that the guy below can lock it in place.

Over in the corner we see the new front doors are getting a coat of paint. Nice red color.

What's unusual about this picture? It's finished. This is the nursery and it's no longer a construction scene.

Finally, we go up into the balcony and see that the railing has been finished too. All the trim is in place and it looks like the railing itself has been given a final coat of brown paint. The wood does need some staining and Chris would like to get his organ bench back. Has anyone seen it?
