LYO in the News - April 2009

The LYO raised $1440.00 in February for World Vision’s 30hr Famine to help fight world hunger.  This money will provide 4 children with food for an entire year!  During the 30 hours, we took a fieldtrip to the Open Door Mission to organize their clothing room and clean their facility.   On Saturday, after our sleepover at church, we went on a food drive and collected food for the Pittsford Food Cupboard.  We also had a very special dinner prepared for us that evening, by many members of the congregation.  On Sunday, we led the sermon at each service to share our experience.   We extend our fondest appreciation for all of those who contributed to this cause in so many different ways. Thank you!

April 4th is Palm Cross Making, at 10:00.  Please join us as we prepare for Palm Sunday’s arrival.

The Annual Car Wash will be held Sunday,  May 3rd.  Cars will be washed and dried by our outstanding youth group while you attend church service.  Please support the LYO by choosing our car washing service; it’s tax deductible!

We welcome all 6the thru 12th graders to attend our meetings on Sundays from 9:30-10:00, following the LYO Calendar. We are growing by leaps and bounds. Did you know that there are up to 16 LYO members meeting in the youth lounge for the LYO meetings on Sunday mornings? Stop by to say hi, bring your appetite, and your friends!
