Live Worship Protocols

Given the increased number of people being vaccinated, we are making plans to safely gather in our building once again.  We are looking at May 2 as the day we will again offer in-person services.

This will not be a full return to “normal.” We will ease into it, keeping many safety protocols in place until we are more certain that a critical mass of our folks (including children) are vaccinated and able to worship safely and fully.

There will be two options for worshiping with us in-person:

9:30 – Attend the live-stream:

A limited number of people may attend the recording of the livestream. Attendance will require:

  • Sign-ups (link to sign-up genius)
  • Masks for all except Pastor and Music Director.
  • A check-in at the entrance to screen for symptoms
  • Physical distancing once in the sanctuary (pews are marked, but you are responsible for yourself when not seated).

Please note: Pastor and Music Director will be singing, unmasked, at this service. Both will by then by fully vaccinated, and though that lessens the possibility of transmitting the virus, it does not eliminate it. Congregation members in attendance will not be permitted to sing yet, but may participate in spoken responses. Please also be aware that there are parts of the service that will be pre-recorded, and there is no simple way to share these simultaneously with the live congregation, due in part to the lag of the stream. Those in attendance will need to exit quickly and any fellowship must happen outside. Please plan to arrive at least 5-10 min early to allow for check in, and so that we can give any instructions before the mics go live.

11:00 – Attend following the live-stream:

We will hold a shorter, in-person service at 11am, without singing.  Attendance will require

  • Masks for all except pastor
  • Sign-ups (link to sign up)
  • A check-in at the entrance to screen for symptoms
  • Physical distancing once in the sanctuary (pews are marked, but you are responsible for yourself when not seated).

There will not be any singing at this service, and it will last about 30 min. It will include confession, some readings, a sermon, and prayers, as well as a prelude and postlude.

Stay tuned and check back here, as everything is subject to change as we continue to watch this dynamic virus evolve.
